Lugana d.o.c. del Lupo
“I think it's truly outstanding. Probably one of the best
Lugana wines I have ever had the chance to try. I've drunk it several
times already, and I have always found it has a very distinctive
character. Perhaps it's a little difficult to understand at the moment,
because it's still closed and nervous. But, in my opinion, there
is a fascinating future in store for it. It is aged in steel: just
steel, no wood at all. Even though alcohol content is high, it's
masked by a vivid freshness that is quite unusual for a warm vintage.
The wine reeks of citrus fruits (lemon and grapefruit) and also citronella
and mowed grass. It has a well-rounded vegetality and it shows a
forceful minerality. There are hints of green almond and chlorophyll
tones in the lingering finale. Just let it rest a while longer and
it will give you great satisfaction. I'm willing to bet on it...” (Angelo
Peretti).
